Located in Germantown, Womanspace Philadelphia (a program of Resources or Human Development) is a 10-bed residential facility providing substance use treatment to women with a history of chronic homelessness. WSP provides evidenced based treatment from a Recovery Model perspective.  We value individualized and holistic care and strive to provide a restorative experience for all women who come through our doors.   The program is currently seeking a part time (20 hours per week) Nurse Manager to work with women who have substance use treatment needs along with overlapping medical, familial and mental health needs.  This position will allow the unique opportunity to work with women during the entire process from assessment through withdrawal management, treatment, and transition to stable housing and would be perfect for candidates passionate about building relationships, homelessness, and harm reduction.

Appropriate candidates will be compassionate, caring and enthusiastic about our mission, and will possess the desire to interact with individuals creatively through modeling, teaching, assisting, and listening. Willingness to support the development of the nursing program is needed and ability to support the trauma informed culture and interact with everyone in a respectful and gentle way is a must.  Additionally, willingness to work with individuals on medication assisted treatment and support women in all stages of recovery is required. Bilingual (English/Spanish) are strongly encouraged to apply.
Starting rate is $39-$41 per hour

Responsibilities/Duties

The Nurse manager will report to the medical director and program director and is responsible for supervision and scheduling of the program nursing staff ensuring 24 hour coverage.  Nurse manager will be responsible for monitoring program timelines related to health assessments, psychiatrist visits, and for overseeing the provision of medication and associated documentation by all medical staff. Additional responsibilities include building relationships with outside providers and pharmacies and participating in leadership meetings to support new initiatives. The Nurse Manager is an active part of the treatment team and participates in case consultations, weekly clinical rounds, and discussions/trainings to provide a medical perspective and promote the overall wellness of the women.  

Required Experience

  • Three years of supervisory experience
  • Experience in a drug and alcohol detoxification setting preferred
  • Knowledge of and experience working with homelessness, addiction, and mental illnesses in a residential setting and/or from a harm reduction perspective preferred

Required Education

Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Nursing with Master's degree preferred

Required Qualifications

  • Current licensure as an RN in the state of Pennsylvania
  • Valid Driver’s license
  • Act 33/34 clearance and FBI clearance as needed
  • All trainings as required by licensure.
