Description/Job Summary

RHD Woodstock Family Center (WFC) provides emergency housing services for families with children. During their stay they will be focused on housing, employment, health, community involvement, and education. The primary goal of the program will be for residents to obtain permanent housing in a short period of time.

The Operations Manager is directly responsible for creating an environment that reflects the mission of the RHD’s WFC and complies with the standards of the Philadelphia’s Office of Supportive Housing (OSH).The position functions within the administrative/supervisory team of the Woodstock Family Center.  A commitment to the RHD Values should be demonstrated as job duties are performed.

The Operations Manager essential duties will include the following:

  • Provide supervision and support to Direct Service Professional Supervisors and Direct Service Professionals (DSP).
  • Ensure that DSP Supervisors provide proper staff coverage and quality service, scheduling in compliance with the Unit’s budget guidelines.
  • Provide assistance to supervisors in employee performance: including annual performance reviews, consistent supervision, and corrective action as needed.
  • Serve as a liaison among the residents, families, advocates, service providers, OSH and staff.
  • Monitors residents’ compliance with Office of Supportive Housing (OSH) Standards, Resources for Human Development (RHD) and Woodstock’s Policies and Procedures.
  • Utilize Microsoft Office, Lawson System, and HMIS to complete reporting requirements and submit necessary data within a timely fashion.
  • Maintain tracking of staff’s background clearances, annual training requirements and Paid Time Off.
  • Assist Office Manager in maintaining the physical plant to be free of hazards and compliant with OSH’s, RHD Site Standards and OSHA’s Standards.
  • Conduct and facilitate unit staff meetings and trainings in conjunction with the Unit Director
  • Provide ongoing trainings for Supervisory and DSP staff on various Woodstock monitoring procedures.
  • Provide assistance in scheduling Medication Monitoring trainings
  • Review the Medication Monitoring process to insure that it meets the requirements of Woodstock’s Medication Monitoring Policy.
  • Participate in the interview process of prospective employees and coordinate staff orientation and trainings
  • Available for emergency consultation and response

Minimum Requirements/Job Requirments:

  • Bachelor Degree from an accredited institution and 4 years related experience
  • Valid Driver's License and satisfactory driving record
  • Prior experience in supervision, record keeping, payroll and billing
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suites and Email
  • Computer literate and able to utilize various data management software packages.
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work late hours as needed
  • Ability to work in a fast paced office and shelter environment
  • Ability to work in a team environment to support and effectively manage a large family shelter with consistent facility, personnel and resident challenges

4 years working with children, families and in a supervisory position

Required Education
