Description/Job Summary

Point to Point is a one-to-one personal, escorted transportation program for people who are disabled, or people who cannot drive and cannot easily and independently use public transportation. Point to Point provides access to medical appointments and other activities. Anyone who might benefit from time-convenient transportation provided with the aid of a caring escort may enroll.

The Unit Director is responsible for coaching, empowering, supervising and enriching team members. The Unit Director also works with RHD Divisional Leadership to provide program oversight and leadership.  Duties include, but are not limited to, overseeing the daily operation of the program; providing values driven support and supervision to the staff, establishing and maintaining a program budget, overseeing the transportation operations, acquisition and disposition of program vehicles in conjunction with RHD Property/Risk Management staff. The Unit Director will create an environment in which the team can operate and uphold the RHD values. 

Responsibilities/Duties

  • Collaborate with the Division Leadership team to establish and maintain a program budget. 
  • Participate in the development, implementation, and updating of policies, procedures, and systems.
  •  Establish a reporting mechanism that assess and shares efficiencies and areas of improvement. 
  • Attend and actively participate in all meetings as required. 
  • Establish and maintain a positive working relationship with vendors, trade organizations and clients.
  • Ensure regular, consistent, meaningful and culturally responsive communication within all levels of the unit. 
  • Complete all trainings and certifications in accordance with Pennsylvania state law.
  • Engage and maintain ongoing communication with Program Leadership staff. 
  • Regular review and audit of operations to ensure compliance with the mission of the program, RHD Values, and all local regulations.
  • Work closely with the Assistant Director by attending meetings, trainings, completing administrative tasks, and scheduling.    
  • Ensure that memos, bulletins and operational changes are communicated throughout the unit’s management and staff.
  • Ensure that operational procedures are maintained, and issues/concerns are reported immediately to the Division Leadership. 
  • Monitor the usage of company vehicles and property. 
  • Ensure all services are delivered within the budget allotted.

Required Experience

Minimum of 5 years of experience working in the transportation field, which includes direct supervision of administration, staff and drivers

Required Education

Bachelors degree

Required Qualifications

  • Knowledge of transportation logistics, operations and billing
  • Knowledge of PUC and DOT rules and regulations
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience working in the transportation field, which includes direct supervision of administration, staff and drivers.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to develop new business.
  • Demonstrates excellent problem solving and conflict resolution skills.
  • Demonstrates good organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to support and implement RHD and unit values and beliefs.
  • Willing to travel if necessary.
  • Understanding of scheduling and transportation routing
  • Prior experience working with and creating program budgets
