All new employees hired between 9/14/2020 and 12/31/2020 are eligible to recieve a SIGN-ON BONUS equivalent to a total of $500 (gross amount) for FULL-TIME staff and $300 (gross amount) for PART-TIME/ON-CALL staff!!!

RHD/RSS provides supervised living (CLA) and supported living (SLA), shared housing, individual home ownership, education, training, and clinical treatment services for men and women with intellectual and developmental disabilities throughout Montgomery County.

Direct Service Professionals are directly responsible for the health, safety and supervision of individuals receiving services. The DSP is responsible for assisting individuals with completing their outcomes, which include supporting health, safety and the growth of the individual. Commitment to RHD values should be demonstrated as job duties are performed.

Responsibilities/Duties

  • Monitor the safety and comfort of individuals, while ensuring that their medical, nutritional and personal care needs are being met.
  • Support individuals to identify and achieve the personal outcomes important to them
  • Interact with individuals in an emotionally supportive and therapeutic manner, and practice effective techniques for reinforcing appropriate individual behavior.
  • Provide counseling, guidance, direction and/or redirection to individuals as needed
  • Utilize crisis management skills
  • Provide transportation and assist individuals with integration into the community by accompanying them on various activities.
  • Assist individuals with general housekeeping, meal preparation, laundry, and shopping duties.
  • Complete assigned cleaning tasks on a routine basis to maintain a neat and clean environment.
  • Assist individuals in the handling of money and finances.
  • Provide age appropriate leisure time activities.

Required Experience

  • Basic computer skills
  • Prior experience a plus

Required Education

  • High school diploma or GED

Required Qualifications

  • Must pass employment-related screenings and have a pre-employment physical
  • Ability to drive in rural and city areas
  • Must pass all mandatory trainings (CPR/FA, Medication Administration)
  • Valid Driver's License
