Description/Job Summary


The Recovery Support Specialist Supervisor (RSSS) is responsible for theoversight and support of the residents, staff and physical site at the assigned residence. RSSS is responsible for ensuring standards are met as set by funders, licensing requirements and RHD expectations. RSSS is responsible for communicating any programmatic needs or concerns to Operations Director and/or Program Director. 

Responsibilities/Duties

Employee Management:

  • RSSS supervises and provides supports to Recovery Support Specialists at assigned site. This includes orientation, supervision, evaluations, progressive disciplinary action and participating in employee terminations when necessary.
  • RSSS is responsible for assigning and ensuring employees complete responsibilities including goal planning, skills training, service planning and attending any scheduled meetings as well as reporting to supervisor any employee struggling with these responsibilities.
  • RSSS is responsible for ensuring all employees conduct themselves in a manner consistent with program policy, RHD values/funder and licensor expectations and reporting any violations to supervisors. 
  • RSSS is responsible for keeping employees up to date on any programmatic changes in policy, structure and residents through supervision and staff meetings.
  • RSSS is responsible for participation in the on-call pool. Responsibilities include handling employee call-outs, crisis situations and site emergencies. 
  • RSSS is responsible for assisting in the development of and ensuring completion of site documentation (per regulations and program policy) such as county required documentation, service plans, goal plans, 60-day reviews, fire drills, weekly check-sheets, incident reports, communication log and progress.
  • RSSS is responsible for reporting any physical property issues and addressing safety needs immediately.
  • RSSS is responsible for fiscal management including making sure site stays on budget for groceries/supplies and manages activity/resident funds responsibly. 
  • RSSS is responsible for an awareness of and ability to teach program policies, procedures and regulations. .
  • RSSS is responsible for the oversight of the health and wellness of all program participants. Concerns should be reported to supervisor immediately.
  • RSSS is responsible for setting daily schedule and expectations for staff and residents.
  • RSSS is responsible for assisting in new resident intake including intake packet and inventory of personal belongings.
  • RSSS is responsible for ensuring service plans and program expectations (per RHD and 5310 regulations) are being followed and amended when necessary to meet the needs of each resident.
  • RSSSis responsible for coordination of care amongst all stake holders including organizing and attending treatment team meetings when necessary

Required Experience

  • Must have a minimum two years of supervisory experience in the mental health field

Required Education

  • Must have a minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree

Required Qualifications

Qualifications include:

  • Must have a minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree

  • Must have a valid PA driver’s license

  • Excellent communication and problem-solvingabilities

  • Well versed in computer skills

  • Must have a minimum two years of supervisory experience in the mental health field

  • Must have knowledge of the recovery way of thinking and ability to institute recovery practices 

Program Summary

Eight bed co-ed Long Term Secured Residential (LTSR) serving individuals with mental and behavioral health disabilities.  Beds are alocated to Bucks County unless otherwise approved by Bucks County Behavioral Health (BCBH) and Bucks County Department of Mental Health/ Development Programs (MH/DP).
