RHD/Shining Through serves adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Direct Service Professionals are directly responsible for the health, safety and supervision of individuals receiving services. The DSP is responsible for assisting individuals with completing their outcomes, which include supporting health, safety and the growth of the individual. Commitment to RHD values should be demonstrated as job duties are performed..
Monitor the safety and comfort of individuals, while ensuring that their medical, nutritional and personal care needs are being met.
Support individuals to identify and achieve the personal outcomes important to them
Interact with individuals in an emotionally supportive and therapeutic manner, and practice effective techniques for reinforcing appropriate individual behavior.
Provide counseling, guidance, direction and/or redirection to individuals as needed
Utilize crisis management skills
Provide transportation and assist individuals with integration into the community by accompanying them on various activities.
Assist individuals with general housekeeping, meal preparation, laundry, and shopping duties.
Complete assigned cleaning tasks on a routine basis to maintain a neat and clean environment.
Assist individuals in the handling of money and finances.
Provide age appropriate leisure time activities.
Basic Computer Skills
Prior experience a plus
Must have a high school diploma or GED
Must pass employment-related screenings and have a pre-employment physical
Ability to drive in rural and city areas
Must pass all mandatory trainings (CPR/FA, Medication Administration)
Valid Driver's License
