Description/Job Summary

Resources for Human Development is seeking a Director of Revenue Cycle for IDD services to oversee the Revenue Assurance activity through the optimal security of the division’s revenues. The Director of Revenue Cycle will work on proactively improving processes that impact the revenue stream, ensure compliance with State fiscal regulations, including but not limited to services authorizations and rate setting processes. The Director of Revenue Cycle will oversee implementation and maintenance of billing and accounts receivable policies and procedures to ensure billing and collection of receivables for all services provided while upholding the corporate values within a trauma informed enviornment.
 
Essential Duties and Functions
  • Oversee billing and collection processes. Create or run reports to analyze billing and accounts receivable trends and keep VP of Revenue Cycle Management and DFO informed as to the progress, results, and conclusions
  • Investigate, document and report issues root causes. Propose solutions to avoid occurrence of issues.
  • Oversee the divisional use of the states’ regulatory and data systems, including homes, provider types and specialties.
  • Review service authorization and troubleshooting the inability to bill as a result of authorizations problems. Working with federal, state and county agencies in resolving billing and authorization issues as they relate to individuals’ plan changes.
  • Manage and report on the state and local provider contracts and participate in rate negotiations.  
  • Work with the cross-functional teams in implementing best practices in revenue analysis and recording. 
  • In collaboration with Financial Managers and other divisional leaders to create and lead the process of long-term strategic forecast of the system based on current trends and rate settings.
  • Supervise, train and mentor the revenue cycle team.

Required Experience

Minimum of 5 years experience working in revenue cycle roles within Healthcare or Social Services.  Minimum 3 years supervisory experience. Experience in development and disability service delivery is strongly preferred.

Required Education

Bachelor’s Degree in Economics, Finance or related field.

Required Qualifications

  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft suite of products (Excel, Word, Outlook). Ability to learn and use electronic health records and billing software.
  • Excellent verbal and interpersonal communication skills; ability to interact with all levels of staff.
  • Ability to travel locally and overnight.
  • Valid Driver's License required.
