Description/Job Summary

RHD is seeking a seasoned professional to join our team as the Senior Consumer Fund Coordinator to safeguard the finances of persons supported by the agency who have Intellectual Disabilities and/or Autism and are unable to independently manage their own accounts.  Duties performed are governed by local, state and federal regulations as well as Philadelphia Department of Public Health and Pennsylvania Department of Public Welfare.  This position is responsible for a full range of bookkeeping duties in a values-based environment.  


Responsibilities/Duties

  • Participate on a team to create and implement procedures to create a more efficient system for monitoring and managing consumer funds.
  • Monitor IDD Representative Payee and non-Representative Payee accounts by maintaining a system for managing financial activities and safeguarding consumer funds including:
    • Tracking and maintaining SS correspondence.
    • Communicating with Social Security in reference to maintaining or reinstating consumer benefits.   
  • Safeguard IDD specific Individual client funds by reviewing documents daily for accuracy and correcting any errors.
  • Oversight of:
    • Account reconciliations of custodial managed accounts.
    • Advance and personal stipend accounts.
  • Review monthly at a program level ensuring consumer financial transactions are occurring monthly, investigating discrepancies and making any necessary corrective actions. Ex: reviewing to ensure that all consumers within that program were charged Room & Board.
  • Application and adjustments of monthly room & board payments.
  • Recurring transactions including stop, changes and additions in reference to consumers room/board, personal stipends and miscellaneous other recurring.
  • Spreadsheet maintenance for client tracking and other spreadsheets for management of specific accounts and procedures.
  • Provides customer service assistance and support to IDD programs.
    • Ensuring balances are continuous, appropriate and accurate.
    • Documenting maintenance.
    • Resolves conflicts and maintain financially healthy accounts based on Federal State and Local regulations. 
    • Prepares and provides oversight of local banking records, where applicable.

Required Experience

  • Minimum of three years experience in bookkeeping.

Required Education

  • BA/BS in Business with an emphasis in Accounting.

Required Qualifications

  • Strong interpersonal, supervisory and customer service skills required.
  • BA/BS in Business with an emphasis in Accounting.
  • Minimum of three years’ experience in bookkeeping.
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel, Word and Outlook.
  • Thorough understanding of journal entries.
  • Quick learner and fast starter with great initiative.
  • Excellent professional communication and interpersonal skills both written and oral.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment with strong attention to detail with strong organizational skills. 
  • Ability to meet deadlines.
  • Able to multi-task with understanding how to effectively prioritize work.
  • Self-motivated with an understanding of Team Concept with a commitment to group process.
