The Employment Specialist is a mobile support role designed to serve clients searching for a job and also working in a job at a variety of locations throughout Philadelphia, Montgomery, Delaware, and Chester counties.

The Employment Specialist will demonstrate the ability to protect and maintain the health and safety of the client as well as provide support as the client job requires. This role is mobile, based at client work-places and physically active. Individuals with experience in the hospitality industry are encouraged to apply. 


The following is an itemized list that includes but is not limited to in the following domains: 

Job Support

Perform job analysis and task analysis documentation 

Coaching participants while at work across many different environments  

Serve as point of contact with the individual's employer 

Develop and implement participant fade plan documentation 

Assist with developing job productivity, safety and assimilating to workplace culture

Job Finding 

Complete all pre-placement activities that assist an individual with a disability to secure a job match in an integrated work setting with competitive wages

Complete and document all community-based work assessments and situational assessments in alignment with client’s vocational goals. 

In community and online job search and applications

Conduct interview preparation and appropriate employer follow-up 

Conduct accommodations inventory to determine if job accommodations are needed, and implement those accommodations based upon recommendation from Assistive Technology Professional

Remote Services

Conduct remote services when desired/required by client participant in either job finding or job support

Demonstrate proficiency in major telehealth platforms

Liaise with client supports and administrative office to establish logistics for remote services sessions

Access to the internet 

Access to use of a computer


Demonstrate proficiency in MS Office

Implement accessibility accommodations based upon recommendation from Assistive Technology Professional

General duties

Demonstrate proficiency in professional business appropriate writing and communication 

Complete timely, compliant service documentation (HIPAA and Fraud, Waste and Abuse, Client ISP)

Attend all staff meetings

Complete all assigned trainings 

Prepare case records and reports including placement and job coaching forms 

Demonstrate punctuality and reliability in job role

Must be able to drive to work assignments allowing for 30 minutes travel time between assignments as more than one client will be served each day

Demonstrate ability to serve clients across multiple funders and adapt support practices as required by the funder

Required Experience

  • Minimum 2 years experience serving individuals with IDD, Autism, SMI in community inclusion, technical skills acquisition and evidence-based employment services
  • Must have performed job coaching in competitive, inclusive environments 

Required Education

  • High School Diploma/GED required
  • ACRE certification or CESP (minimum of ACRE, Part I) preferred

Required Qualifications

  • Must posess a valid Pennsylvania drivers’ license and be legally able to drive RHD vehicles
  • Must be able to stand for long periods of time and sometimes outdoors
  • Flexibility with scheduling and a willingness to accept changes 
  • Ability to work one weekend day per week, nights as needed
  • Valid drivers license.
