Resources for Human Development CORE Beaver program is open and hiring a Part-Time Therapist in Allegheny County. The Therapist will provide support and provide intensive treatment to men in a long-term residential facility who are being released from the Allegheny County jail and dealing with mental health and drug and alcohol issues.

  • Conduct biopsychosocial assessments including recommendations for treatment

  • Provide individual, group, and family therapies to people with mental health and substance abuse issues. 

Caseload management

  • Maintain active caseload including engaging individuals in ongoing treatment.

  • Maintain tracking system for treatment plans, and other required documents to meet CCBHC and agency guidelines

  • Discharge individuals according to agency guidelines.


  • Enter documentation into electronic medical record in accordance with agency guidelines

Required Experience

  • One year therapist experience in a drug and alcohol setting preferred

Required Education

  • Masters degree in human services preferred 
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in a human service field with at least two years as a counselor/therapist in a drug and alcohol setting

Required Qualifications

  • ACT 33/34 clearances
  • FBI clearance, as needed
  • All trainings required by licensure

Program Summary

RHD CORE (Capitalizing On a Recovery Environment) Allegheny County provides long-term non-hospital-based residential drug and alcohol treatment services to adult male residents of Allegheny County returning to the community.  CORE Allegheny only takes referrals from the Specialty Courts of Allegheny County and utilizes evidence-based practices, supports the use of MAT, and provides trauma-informed care.  We also adhere to the Recovery Oriented System of Care as we support our client's recovery and return to the community.
