Description/Job Summary

Position Summary
 The Nurse Manager supervises the LPN’s working for the program as well as manages and oversees the medical aspects of the services that the program provides 

Essential Duties and Functions               
Responsibilities
A.    Assist person in recovery (PIR) with applying for, obtaining, and maintaining all entitlements (i.e. DPW, SSI, Managed Care).
B.    Coordinate appointments and interface with community agencies and resources
C.    Support recovery goal attainment through linkage to community resources and  creating opportunities for community integration.
D.   Complete all state mandated paperwork, i.e., Service Documents, Registration forms.
E.    Support PIR gaining access to services with aggressive and creative attempts to help obtain needed resources.  This includes a strong role as an advocate.
F.    Supervise LPN’s employed by the program.
G.   Work cooperatively with the Assistant Director to ensure quality, evidence based services are provided to clients.
I.     Work cooperatively with the Unit Director and Assistant Director to write and ensure the adherence of staff to policies and procedures.
 
Clinical
A.    Collaborate on Personal Recovery Plans that emphasize the PIR’s strength and needs, etc.
B.    Monitor service delivery by maintaining regular contact with PIR and service providers/programs involved with the PIR.
C.    Monitor PIR on a regular basis to note any changes that may impact recovery plan.
 
Educational
A.    Participate in Program milieu.
B.    Attend and/or facilitate educational groups and meetings (Healthy Living Group).
C.    Actively support residents in understanding medication management and medication assisted therapy.
 
Medication and Health Management
A.    Ensure that physicals for residential clients are completed within 7 days of admission
B.    Ensure that any admission for detoxification is seen by the MD/Psychiatrist within 24 hours of admission.
C.    Ensure PIRs prescriptions are current and assist PIR in obtaining prescriptions as needed.
D.   Coordinate medications and PIR health needs with program MD/Psychiatrist
 E.    Oversee use of eMAR system and ensure that medications are managed correctly.
 F.    Daily review of eMAR system to assure correctness.
G.   Conduct monthly inspections of medication storage
H.   Support health needs of PIR
I.     Assist PIRs in scheduling medical appointments and follow-up on medical recommendations.
J.    Collect and document collection of PIRs’ urine samples as assigned
K.   Ensure that all RHD, County, State, local and MCO policies and regulations are followed.
 
Program
A.    Document educational groups and any other significant resident contact.
B.    Participate in Case Consultation Mtgs., Staff Mtgs. and supervision as assigned.
C.    Attend training as required by RHD and licensing bodies
D.   As assigned by Director to insure continuity of care.

Required Experience

Qualifications
A.    Current licensure as RN in Penna.
B.    Experience working in a detoxification setting preferred
C.    Knowledge of and experience working with homelessness, addiction, residential facilities, mental illnesses recovery preferred
E.    Experience with Criminal Justice population. preferred
