Position Summary
The Registered Nurse working for RHD’s New Start II program provides medical care to individuals involved in RHD’s Mental Health and D & A detoxification services.  The RN will also provide medical services including medication administration to all persons receiving services provided by RHD’s New Start II.
 
Essential Duties and Functions
  1. Maintain nursing documentation and medication records.
  2. Follow all agency, MCO, County, State and licensing regulations.
  3. Supervise consumers to ensure safety and health of all residents
  4. Review quality assurance of medication monitoring.
  5. Assessment of client health and emotional needs.
  6. Follow agency protocols for assessment, documentation and reporting or client issues and status.
  7. Provide nursing care such as wound care, diabetic counseling, etc. as needed.
  8. Communicate with other members of the nursing staff including report at the change of shift and informing to the Nurse Manager, Director, Clincial Director and program team of important matters.
  9. Team with staff during crisis intervention to deescalate and re-direct client during periods of emotional distress.
  10. Counsel and support clients regarding goals, feelings, and policies of program. Support staff in therapeutic process.
  11. Coordinate, interaction with family members, ICMs (Intensive Case Managers), adjunct staff, and other professionals as needed.
  12. Complete assessments as required by written, verbal or electronic protocols.
  13. Complete required documentation and complete requisitions forms for testing.
  14. Assist with organization and ordering of medical supplies.
  15. Supervise client submission of urine for analysis, complete in office testing and/or complete requisitions for testing at an outside laboratory.
  16. Assistance with meals, baths, and cleaning may be required.
  17. Attend trainings and staff meetings monthly
  18. Provide training to the staff about medical conditions/considerations that pertain to the population served.
  19. Remain awake and alert on all shifts worked
  20. Complete client supervision( i.elocation, medical condition)
  21. Facilitate educational groups with staff and/or residents
  22. Pour & Dispense medications to clients
  23. Monitor the intake of medications
  24. Document in Electronic Health Records (EHR)
  25. Escorting clients when applicable
Qualifications
  1. Registered Nurse
  2. Available to work past shift hours if applicable
  3. Required to work some weekends and Holidays
  4. Experience in a drug and alcohol detoxification setting preferred.
  5. Valid driver’s license.
  6. ACT 33/34 clearance.
  7. FBI clearance, as needed
