Description/Job Summary

Program Summary
Morris Home supports transgender individuals as they develop the knowledge, skills and supports necessary to promote sobriety, manage emotional and behavioral difficulties, choose and maintain safe and healthy lifestyles, and develop healthy relationships with peers, family and the community. Morris Home provides a safe, recovery-oriented environment for transgender and gender non-conforming adults who may be coming from “the streets” and/or from shelter programs.

Responsibilities:

  1. Help create trauma-informed, transgender affirming environment.
  2. Read Program Log at start of shift.
  3. Document shift report in Program Log throughout shift.
  4. Participate in and support members’ social activities.
  5. Support members in maintaining Program schedule.
  6. Support meal preparation.
  7. Monitor self-administration of medication and document in Medication Log.
  8. Assist members in conflict resolution.
  9. Provide transportation for members as needed.
  10. Provide crisis intervention.
  11. Conduct educational seminars as assigned.
  12. Provide vacation, sick, and holiday coverage for full-time staff as needed.
  13. Provide emergency coverage for next shift.
  14. As assigned by Director to insure continuity of care.

Requirements:

High School Graduate or G.E.D.
One year of previous experience preferred.  
Personal Recovery/Life Experience accepted.
