Essential Duties and Functions
Supervise the consumers according to planned supervision levels
Provide programming that follows the principals of normalization/positive approaches and follows all therapeutic guidelines as outlined by the clinical team
Support consumers in daily life skills development such as cooking/food preparation, shopping, academics, socialization, utilizing community resources, vocational, social and interpersonal development, etc.
Assist with the coordination of consumer appointments, activities and community events (i.e. arranging transport and/or assist consumers to and from appointments, coordinate needed funds with Unit Director, etc.)
Assist consumers with the purchase of items with personal or program funds; ensure receipts or proof of purchase is obtained in accordance to consumer fund management guidelines
Prepare, assist with preparing, or supervise menu planning and meal preparation
Assist with or supervise consumer cleaning and maintaining the home
Attend all mandatory staff meetings and trainings as identified by RHD, or State or governing agencies
Communicate with staff at shift change about the status of the consumers
Provide transportation and access to approved recreational and leisure activities in the home and community
Monitor consumer administration of medication as prescribed (after completion of Medication Administration Training), and complete all corresponding documentation
Possess bachelor’s degree plus 1 year of experience in a supportive role with individual(s) providing assistance, advice, guidance, instruction or direction in completing activities of daily living or coping with ongoing stressful life circumstances preferred
OR high school diploma plus 3 years of experience in a role as already described.
Must pass NJ Criminal Background Check
Possess a NJ valid driver's license
Be 21 years of age or older
