New Perspectives is seeking Mental Health Professionals (MHP) for our Stroudsburg location. THIS POSITION IS LOCATED IN THE STROUDSBURG AREA, APPROXIMATELY 60 MILES NORTH OF PHILADELPHIA, PA. The following shifts are available
New Perspectives is an eight-bed, short-term residential program for adults in Carbon, Monroe and Pike counties. The program provides supervised mental health stabilization services as an alternative to psychiatric hospitalization for individuals who are in psychiatric crisis, or who may need to be removed from a stressful environment while supports are identified to ensure stability.
Consumer Care including spending at least 75% of scheduled time in direct, face to face or telephone interactions with consumers
Conduct psycho-educational, skills training, and supportive crisis counseling in residence or community
Observe all scheduled and as needed (PRN) medication observations and assist as directed by Residential Nurse i.e. blood pressure, pulse, temperature, etc.
Community Involvement and Team Work including but not limited to providing referral and other case management services for consumers and families at times of contacts ; either on the phone, in the community, or in the residence prior to discharge
Residential Crisis Specific Duties including but not limited to early walking, daily planning, meal preparation and clean-up, maintaining necessary scheduled appointments that have been approved by supervisory team member
Mobile Crisis Specific Duties including serving in a consultative and collaborative role with community personnel who are also involved in the provision of crisis services such as emergency room physicians, nurses, police officers, ambulance crew members, staff or partial programs, community agencies, etc
3 years with a Master's degree, 5 years with a Bachelor's of which 2 are supervisory experience
At least a Bachelor's degree
Experience working with individuals with mental health or co-occurring issues. .
Provide treatment and services to individuals with mental health/co-ccurring issues in a 24/7 day crisis program in providing crisis residential services, mobile crisis, medical mobiles and 302 petitions
