This position will be in the Live Yes Studios Community art Center and music-based vocational program, where individuals we serve are given the tools and training needed to realize their creative goals, whether through visual arts, music or theater. We are looking for enthusiastic, reliable and caring people who are motivated to support individuals with disabilities to attain the highest level of independence possible and build better lives for themselves, their families and their community. The ideal candidate will have an artistic passion they are eager to share. They will be able to address the dynamic ever-changing needs of those we support and promote a climate of compassion, understanding, and realization of people’s dreams.
Be part of the arts instructor team and design creative projects to be carried out at the center, assist our participants in learning skills and materials necessary to carry out projects as well as their own, individual artwork.
Contribute art skills and knowledge to the growth of Live Yes Studios participants’ skill set and artistic vision
Meet the basic needs of our participants, which may include medication administration, assisting in toileting, and other ADL’s (Activities of Daily Living), as well as provide vocational and artistic programming.
Provide one-on-one supervision for participants when needed
Actively engage participants in artistic activities
Drive agency vehicles or using public transportation to assist individuals in accessing the community
Assist in promoting and showing of art through various exhibition venues.
Complete daily documentation
Previous experience in DD/ID services is a plus. Training will be provided.
High School Diploma/GED
Must be 18 years of age or older
Valid Driver’s License and reliable transportation
