The mission of Resources for Human Development (RHD) is to provide caring, effective and innovative services that empower people of all abilities as they build better lives for themselves, their families and their communities. RHD’s multi-faceted programs serve people with a variety of challenges that include intellectual and developmental disabilities, mental illness, substance abuse and homelessness.
RHD North Carolina Is hiring full-time and part-time ADL Counselors. The ADL Counselor assesses, plans, implements and evaluates daily living programs and routines for individuals we serve. He/she conducts all program operations in accordance with RHD policy and the regulatory requirements of the NC DHHS. The ADL Counselor is responsible for ensuring the individual’s health and safety is protected and that each individual participates to their fullest in activities of daily living.
Positions available include 1 Full-Time Tuesday-Saturday 1st shift, 2 Full-Time Sunday-Thursday 2nd Shift; and several part time shifts on Sunday, Monday, Friday and Saturday, 1st and 2nd shift.
Assist and support consumers in obtaining and maintaining life skills
Symptom management for and with consumers
Maintain cleanliness of the home
Assist and Support residents in maintaining daily schedule
Report facility concerns to the Program Manager
Provide and teach medication administration to residents
Planning and preparing meals
Assist consumers with working towards person centered treatment goals
Complete required program documentation
Provide therapeutic mentoring and symptom monitoring and management
1 year in human services field preferred
High School Diploma/GED required, Bachelor's degree preferred (degree in psychology, sociology, counseling, social work, education).
Valid Driver’s license required
Strong problem solving skills and ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing with consumers and other staff
Must be able to work independently and as a member of a team.
RHD North Carolina (NC) provides residential supports for men and women with diagnosis of developmental disabilities and dual diagnosis of mental illness and/or physical disabilities. The program focuses on a person-centered planning approach, and much care is given to working with individuals to create homes and treatment to meet individual needs. The program provides intensive support in the area of life skills, social skills, and community integration with an emphasis on having fun while pursuing personal goals.
