The RN Consultant is responsible for oversight of health services for agency while ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies and procedures. This position is also responsible for the health, safety and emotional support of the individuals
Essential Job Functions:
Facilitate the medication management process for the agency (e.g. auditing MARS, completing medication variances, checking medication boxes for compliance)
Assist in the health related education for the individuals we serve by training staff on ISPs (plan of care) and medication administration
Collaborate with Home Managers to monitor the health of our individuals and medication administration
Review medication administration documentation submitted by direct support professionals
Perform quality assurance checks and observations to ensure DSPs and HMs are correctly monitoring the health and safety
Conduct home checks to ensure medications are stored according to state regulations and MARs are accurate and complete
Provide support to Case Manager with the scheduling of medical appointments and activities associated with medical contract providers
Other duties as assigned
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Must have an active unrestricted RN license in the State of Tennessee
Skill in working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
Ability to communicate effectively in a courteous and professional manner.
Ability to read documents and written instructions.
Ability to write and maintain accurate records.
Ability to maintain confidentiality.
Ability to stoop, kneel, and lift to complete assigned tasks.
Ability to maintain a patient and positive attitude.
Ability to drive a motor vehicle.
Basic computer knowledge.
Active RN license. ADN /BSN Degree from an accredited Nursing school. Previous experience with developmentally disabled individuals is preferred.
