Blank Canvas Studios is an arts-based day program for individuals with developmental disabilities located in Saint Charles, Missouri. We provide people with various levels of ability the opportunity to create and be celebrated for their own unique and individual style of art. We allow our artists the opportunity to create uninhibited art to the best of their ability, by providing them with support and guidance from a team of staff made up of local artists. The artists we support are encouraged to explore a variety of art mediums, including but not limited to: painting, sculpting, graphic design, illustration, printmaking, drawing, dance, theater, film, photography, video and music, jewelry, and fibers.

A DSP art staff is a creative and responsible individual able to facilitate meaningful days for the artists of Blank Canvas Studios.

As a program of Resources for Human Development, Blank Canvas Studios has been providing arts-based services to adults with developmental and intellectual disabilities since 2009 in Saint Charles, Missouri. Clients at BCS work directly with a team of staff made up of local artists, and are given the opportunity to showcase and sell their artwork in the local community. BCS Artists are encouraged to explore a variety of art mediums, including: painting, sculpting, graphic design, illustration, printmaking, drawing, dance, theater, film, photography, video and music, jewelry, and fiber arts.

WHAT WE DO LOCALLY
Resources for Human Development has been delivering trauma-informed, person-centered services to people with intellectual disabilities in Missouri since 2008. RHD Missouri’s Residential Program meets people’s needs in a way that treats people with respect and dignity and places a premium on their quality of life. We provide residential services and community integration, as well as arts based day programs in St. Louis County, Saint Charles, and Kansas City.
