Description/Job Summary


Resources for Human Development Missouri's Kansas City Office is now seeking a qualified individual for a part-time (up to 30 hours) flexible schedule Registered Nurse position. The RN isexpected to coordinate all nursing and medical services for a caseload of clients with intellectual and developmental disabilities supported by RHD Missouri’s Residential Program in Kansas City, as well as provide some nursing oversight to individuals supported at our art based day program when necessary. 

The job duties of this professional level position involve guidance to Direct Support Professionals, Team Leaders, and Directors regarding medical care of clients and coordinating medical appointments of individuals supported by RHD Missouri Kansas City.  The Registered Nurse will work with outside medical professionals to ensure that individuals served by RHD have their medical needs met as per Department of Mental Health regulations. The RN may also be asked to conduct medication administration training for all employees of RHD Missouri’s direct care staff.


  • Complete monthly face to face consumer reviews and report necessary outcomes to Residential Team Leader or appropriate staff.
  • Oversees the medication administration process in residential homes.
  • Educates staff regarding medical needs of consumers and provides educational information asnecessary.
  • Completes all necessary forms and/or documentation to support those served byRHD-Missouri.
  • Provide medical  consultation as needed to ensure safety and well-being of both consumers and caregivers.
  • Participate in Individual Support Planning process.
  • Work cooperatively with residential team to ensure quality service to all those supported by RHD-Missouri.
  • Complete other duties at the discretion of the Director.
  • Will travel tothe different homes in Kansas City and surrounding areas.
  • Act as medical consultant to caregivers and families concerning the well-being of those supported by RHD-Missouri.
  • Teach Medication Administration Level 1 training for agency employees as needed.
  • With assistance from Team Leaders, ensure all homes meet medical care standards necessary for DMH rules and regulations.
  • Provide medical consultation as needed to ensure safety and well-being of both consumers and caregivers.

Required Experience

  • At lease two years experience in the field of nursing

Required Education

  • Associate Degree in Nursing
