The Site Director is a professional person who assumes overall responsibility for the day to day program operation of one residential sites within a residential unit. The Site Director ensures the needs of each individual residing in the programs are met.  The Site Director models appropriate interactions with individuals served in the program.  The Site Director ensures that all program staff receive supervision and training. 
Duties and responsibilities
  • Attends and participates in meetings and trainings related to the services provided in the program
  • Ensures all individual/program reports and documentation is completed in a timely and accurate manner and forwarded to the appropriate person and/or filed in the designated location.
  • Prepares ISP materials and HCSIS reports for submission to DDS/supervisor
  • Ensures that program funds and client funds are used responsibly and all documentation related to each is prepared and submitted as outlined in policies and regulations
  • Schedules and participates in medical appointments and follow up
  • Responds to communication (i.e. email, phone calls, written correspondence) in a timely manner
  • Orders medication  for the program and ensures an adequate supply is present at all times
  • Participates in the On Call rotation for the Residential Unit
  • Ensures all records (medical, clinical, financial) related to services are accurate and up to date
  • Ensures services are in compliance with budgetary and licensing expectations and requirements
  • Prepares weekly/monthly  program reports for submission to Director of Operations
  • Monitors, documents and safeguards funds present in the home
  • Ensures staff receive regular training in fire safety and human rights
Individual Services
  • Works with the  team to ensure individual choice and independence is a primary factor in the development and implementation of services in the program
  • Ensures weekly schedules are developed, finds coverage for unfilled shifts and maintains program ratios dictated by the EESP
  • Creates program schedules reflecting opportunities for community interactions and work on ISP goals
  • Works with team to ensure all services outlined in the ISP are implemented and documented in a way that meets agency, department and licensing expectations
  • Establishes a relationship with individuals, family members, guardians and DDS representatives associated with the site
  • Ensures that regular professional communication occurs with relevant persons concerning the needs and progress of individuals in the assigned program
  • Monitors the delivery of needed medical services, ensuring that all regular and prescribed appointments and treatments are delivered according to written orders (including participation in medical appointments)
  • Provides direct service a minimum of 8 hours per week as part of the minimum staff ratio
  • Provides regular ongoing supervision (1:1 and group) of Direct Support Professionals
  • Orients new staff to the program
  • Conducts regular staff meetings and trainings
  • Conducts yearly performance evaluations of all staff working in the program
  • Works to ensure staff schedules are accurate meet programmatic and safety expectations and minimize the use of overtime.  Monitors and approves time entered into Lawson
  • Ensures that staff assigned to the program maintain the minimum certifications and trainings 
  • Works with members of the Admin team to identify training needs for staff, ensures that training expectations are met by staff in program
Program Site
  • Ensures that all issues related to site and vehicle maintenance are reported to the appropriate personnel, conducting monthly property and vehicle inspections with reports forwarded to Director of Operations
  • Ensures all issues related to safety are reported and addressed in a timely manner
  • Ensures that all necessary programmatic supplies are present (food, materials needed for ISP goals, medications, etc.)

  • Experience
    • Prior management experience
    • 3 years of working experience with individuals with Intellectual Disabilities
  • Education
    • Highschool Diploma/GED strongly preferred
  • Valid Driver's License
  • Specialized knowledge
    • Familiarity with State regulations governing services to individuals with Developmental Disabilities
  • Skills
    • Use Microsoft Word to prepare written documents
    • Use Outlook for email communication
    • Use internet to complete required documentation
  • Other characteristics
    • Must be able to communicate in a clear and professional manner
    • Must be willing to work with a diverse population of clients and staff
  • Professional Certification
    • CPR/First Aid
    • MAP certification (training provided upon hire)
Working conditions
The Site Director divides time between RHD Boston administrative offices and in the program.   The majority of the time will be at/in the residential program. Supervision of the programs requires some evening and weekend hours. All Site Directors are expected to work a minimum of 8 hours per week in the program as part of the ratio and participate in the Unit on call rotation schedule. The Site Director is expected to be able to travel between the assigned site and other job related locations.

Physical requirements
Documentation and meeting expectations will require that the Site Director is able to sit for extended periods of time.
Site Director must be able to physically access all areas of the assigned programs.
Site Director may need to provide physical assistance to the individuals on the assigned caseload.
