Position Summary
 
The Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) mobile treatment program provides community based mental health treatment to individuals with serious mental illness and/or substance abuse issues. 
 
The function of the ACT Team Leader is to oversee the daily clinical service delivery and program operations. The Team Lead provides supervision to program clinial and administrative staff, and consults with other supervisors as needed. The Team Lead ensures the implementation and fidelity to the model by assuring that the team develops and implements best practice treatment modalities, and practices a rehabilitative approach to recovery.  The leader hired for this position works directly with the Regional Director to coordinate and evaluate the needs of the ACT team.
 

Responsibilities/Duties

Essential Duties and Functions
•      Supervise clinical service delivery.

•      Provide on-call, after-hour support to clients and team members as scheduled.

•      Provide face-to-face services in the client’s home and community.   

•      Supervise the provision of recovery counseling and individual treatment services to program consumers.

•      Supervise daily operation of the program including the hiring and training of staff.

•      Provide individual and/or group supervision.

•      Promote and supervise the following staff approaches: Motivational Enhancement Therapy (MET); Stages of Change techniques; Recovery-based, consumer-centered treatment; Harm reduction strategies.

•      Facilitate admission of new consumers into the program.

•    Participates in, and supports the adherence to all internal policies, procedures and practices, and compliance with all regulatory requirements.

Required Experience

  1. Experience required:  3 yrs
  2. Supervisory experience preferred.

Required Education

Qualifications

  1.  A Master’s degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or Rehabilitation. 
  2. Licensure in the state of Iowa.  LISW or LMHC.

  2. The ability to interact professionally with clients, their families and other professionals.
  3. Organizational skills; ability to complete documentation timely and accurately.

Position Summary
 
The Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) mobile treatment program provides community based mental health treatment to individuals with serious mental illness and/or substance abuse issues. 

The ACT team consists of the following members: master’s level mental health clinicians, registered nurse, substance abuse specialist, vocational specialist, psychiatrist/ARNP, peer support specialist, and a program assistant. Team members work together with the individuals served to promote symptom stability and appropriate use of medication; restore personal, community living and social skills; promote and maintain physical health; establish access to entitlements, housing, work and social opportunities; and help maintain the highest possible level of functioning in the community.
