Position Summary
The Hope Springs program promotes consumer independence and personal growth by providing permanent residences in a supportive environment for individuals living with serious and persistent mental illness.  Hope Springs has an uncompromising commitment to quality and integrity to help our consumers live happy and fulfilling lives.  
Under the authority of the Program Director, the Lead Staff assures that all operating policies, procedures and regulations (PA Title Reg 5310) are followed. Lead Staff will work as a team with all employees of Hope Springs to provide services to adults with serious and persistent mental illness.  Lead Staff is responsible for direct services with consumers, significant others and collateral resources in providing assistance, counseling, planning and implementation of daily living skills programs and routines for all consumers.  

Essential Duties and Functions:
  1. Assure compliance with all operating policies, procedures and regulations (PA Title 55 Reg 5310) are followed.
  2. Assure compliance with all RHD corporate personnel policies and administrative policy & procedures are followed.
  3. Participate in the hiring of new staff, orientation and training of new staff, and supervision of staff as needed.
  4. Assume responsibilities of a Case Manager and Residential Counselor.
  5. Ensure and review monthly fire drills, fire extinguisher and generator checks.
  6. Complete and document monthly property inspections, prepare maintenance requests and follow up after work in completed.
  7. Perform monthly medication cycle check ins, returns and disposals in addition to check all meds blister packs, prns, creams, inhalers, diabetic supplies, etc.) for meds that will run out or expire in the next 7 days, request refills and check in upon arrival.
  8. Manage consumer and program funds, including distribution of consumers' checks and stipend money in addition to track and replenish petty cash
  9. Maintain On-Call responsibilities as follows and attend bi-monthly meetings:
    • Answer all work related phone calls or provide a call back within 15 minutes to the site.
    • Provide staff with feedback and guidance for questions and circumstances that may arise or converse with Assistant Director or Program Director for direction when necessary.
    • Covering shifts if a worker calls off and coverage is not found by the beginning of the shift; it is expected that the on-call personnel will arrive for the start of the shift if given the sufficient time or within one hour.
    • Completion of any on-call paperwork that is required: i.e. on-call phone log or HCSIS reports.
  10. Provide administrative support to the Program Leadership, including, but not limited to attendance of weekly management meetings, and representation of the program to internal RHD and external stakeholders as an ambassador of Hope Springs.
  11. Other duties as assigned by Program Director and/or Assistant Director.
Qualifications
Qualifications include:
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Two (2) years of mental health experience
  • Valid PA Driver's License and reliable transportation
  • Supervisory experience is preferred, but not necessary
  • He/she must have the ability and experience to make independent decisions when consulting with the Assistant Director or Program Director is not possible.
