Families in Transition/Rapid Rehousing is a transitional housing program that provides up to 24 months rental assistance, intensive case management and a full network of supportive services to young single women and their children. Referrals for this program
come primarily from the city shelters by way of the Philadelphia Office of Emergency Shelter and Services.
The Accounting Clerk will work with the Financial Analysts to ensure that all accounting functions within the Division are accomplished for Journal Entry, Remote Banking, Credit Card Administration, and Program Funded Invoicing
Essential Duties and Functions
Review program expenses in the General Ledger for miscoded and missing transactions, and submit accruals and correcting Journal Entries as needed
Manage, analyze, and coordinate credit card activity including:
Audit cardholder monthly reconciliations and receipt posting and review for unusual transactions
Order and cancel credit cards and update credit limits
Train new cardholders on RHD credit card policies and procedures
follow-up on credit card fraud investigations
Prepare program funded invoices timely and accurately, ensuring that proper back-up documentation is accounted for and coordinated in a way that fully supports invoices
Assist in the preparation of financial reports for year-end corporate and compliance audits, including retrieving supporting documentation and back-up information as requested
Create excel spreadsheets as needed for ad hoc tracking and analyses
Complete all other duties as assigned
Bachelor’s degree or certificate in Accounting or related field or equivalent work experience.
Excellent verbal and interpersonal communication skills. Ability to interact with all levels of staff
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel is essential, intermediate knowledge of Word recommended
Self-motivated with the ability to apply and continually develop technical skills
Ability to take initiative and accept ownership and responsibility for assigned projects
Ability to establish priorities, coordinate work activities, multi-task, and meet deadlines in a dynamic, open work environment
Ability to work in fast-paced open environment with accuracy and attention to detail
Ability to work well in a team and independently
Ability to travel within the Divisional geographic area
