The Driver will be responsible for providing safe transportation for patients, Community members, program participants, or department staff to and from the health centers and various authorized sites. Driver is required to perform minor routine maintenance to assigned vehicle as well as uphold the health center mission by assuring the delivery of high quality transportation services that result in strong consumer satisfaction
Transport approved/scheduled health care clients to health care appointments in the greater metropolitan Philadelphia area.
Contact clients to confirm/remind them of their van appointments.
Work in partnership with the Transportation Support Service Coordinators and staff who have authorization to schedule clients to ensure the smooth operation of van service.
Ensure the proper maintenance of the van both:
Mechanically by having the van serviced on a regular basis. Vans must service according to its warranty maintenance schedule or at a minimum every 3,000 miles. Basic services should include, but not limited to a safety check and LOF (lube; oil change; replace filter), and
Sanitarily by having the exterior and interior cleaned on a bi-monthly basis.
Schedule annual vehicle registration and inspection thirty days prior to annual due date.
Attend and successfully complete Resources for Human Development, Inc.’s Driver Safety Education course
Implement, enforce and adhere to all pertinent policies outlined in the health center’s Transportation
Support System; Unit Policy and Procedure Manual and OSHA Safety Guidelines.
Pick-up and deliver incoming/outgoing inter-agency mail, supplies and/or equipment between the health centers and the RHD central office once in the AM and again in the PM.
Conduct a weekly vehicle assessment and file a written report of any and all physical, operational and/or safety conditions, issues or concerns immediately to the Administrative Director.
Perform additional duties related to the responsibilities of the driver as assigned by the Administration
5 Years driving experience with a Clean Driving Record
Valid Pennsylvania Driver’s License
Knowledge of Philadelphia streets, communities, health care facilities, and general traffic circumstances.
Exceptional Interpersonal Skills
Ability to demonstrate a high level of Courtesy and Patience to all of our customers.
