The Director upholds the mission of the organization by assuring the delivery of integrated dental care across the FPCN network that is evidence-based, patient-centered, and cost effective, promoting a fiscally sound department. The Director will provide oversight and coordination of the clinical dental operations including assessment, planning, development, implementation, and evaluation of all dental activities. The Director functions as a member of the Senior Leadership Team (SLT) of FPCN and works with the Administrative Director of Dental to collaboratively manage the Dental Department.
Facilitates dialogue and communication among staff in order to fulfill departmental goals.

Define job responsibilities
Recruits, orients, develops and evaluates staff
Handles performance issues and participates in feedback with staff members, including performance evaluations, discipline and commendations.
Disseminates clinical practice information to Dental clinical staff
Determines scope of care and optimum staffing levels and recommends changes as necessary.
Arranges and participates in staff training and education.
Supports dental staff through accessibility, responsiveness and reflective supervision.
Meets established benchmarks of regulatory bodies.
Establishes and maintains internal Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) program and participates on the CQI Committee.
Collaborates with the Administrative Director of Dental and Executive Leadership Team on all matters of strategic planning, integration and vision for the dental department.
Serves as a member of the Senior Leadership Team
Collaborates with Executive Director in fostering new partnerships with organizations that will result in improved services for patients
Participates in regular Clinical Department Directors meetings to further inter-departmental collaboration, establish and measure progress toward interdisciplinary quality improvement goals, and promote integrated care planning
Designs and implements clinical protocols and workflows for electronic patient record.
Develops and maintains quality standards and protocols for digital imaging system.
Sets productivity standards in collaboration with the Administrative Director of Dental and Executive Leadership Team
Assures ongoing statistical management and data analysis of dental visits, revenues, and expenses, working closely with fiscal department.
Collaborates on budgetary planning and management.
Supports the achievement of department targets and budgetary goals.
Collaborates with the Quality and Finance Departments to reach P4P and incentive goals
Provides comprehensive dental treatment and management of specialty services and referrals for all patients for .4 FTE.
Maintains current levels of clinical skills and an understanding of research and developments in the dental field through regular continuing education programs.
Maintains PA State continuing education requirement level.
Collaborates with FPCN Providers to ensure an integrated, patient-centered approach to care.
Current DDS/DMD in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
Master’s degree or AEGD, GPR level education preferred

Today the Network serves more than 23,000 patients annually and is an NCQA certified Patient-Centered Medical Home.
