Direct Support Associates are responsible for overall quality of care for individuals with Developmental Disabilities and other Disabilities.
Assisting individuals with increasing their independence by means of guidance, direction and supervision at their homes and in the community.
A minimum of 1 year experience working in a medical, psychiatric, nursing or child care setting or working with persons who have Developmental disability. College, vocational or technical training to 30 semester hours, 45 quarter hours, or 720 classroom hours can substitute for required experience.
High school Diploma or GED
Level 2 Fingerprint screen pursuant to chapter 435( FBI and FDLE)
Local Criminal Records check through county law enforcement
Valid Florida Driver’s License

RHD DeFuniak Springs is a community-based clubhouse model and day program serving adults with developmental disabilities. Includes training in activities of daily living, pre-vocational skills, job exploration, volunteer services, work enclaves, community resource utilization, community organization participation, recreation skills, residential rehabilitation, respite care, and personal care services. In 2002, the program expanded to provide supported living services.
