The Unit Director is responsible for the management, direction, and supervision of a five-person group home supporting individuals with severe and persistent mental illness in Wilmington, DE. The Unit Director assures that the needs of the residents and the
program are met in accordance with the Values of RHD, the policies of RHD, the standards of all regulatory bodies such as DSAMH, DLTCRP, and CARF.
Essential Duties and Functions:
Assures that services are provided to consumers in a manner that is RHD Values-based, trauma-informed, person-centered, and reflects best clinical and evidence-based practices
Meets with consumers on an ongoing basis in order to provide person-centered care
Collaborates with members of the treatment team for the purpose of the implementation of the needs and desires of the consumers
Facilitates and supervises the facilitation of psychoeducational programming
Participates in crisis intervention
Supports, monitors, and supervises staff in all aspects of service delivery. Provides training, supervision evaluation, and engages in progressive discipline as necessary.
Upholds or exceeds the standards of RHD and all related regulatory bodies (DSAMH, DLTCRP, CARF)
Ensures the program operates within the established budget
Reflects the Values of RHD during interactions with employees, consumers, peers, supervisors, and community agencies
Upholds the policies and procedures of RHD, including all aspects of program's administrative oversight, while engaging in a productive and communicative relationship with centralized supports
Participate in tasks that support the ongoing needs of the program, ensuring that the physical plant and environment support the well-being and health of all residents
Participates in on call rotation
Bachelor’s Degree in a Human Services field (Master’s preferred)
At least three years of experience working with individuals with serious mental illness
At least three years of experience working in a residential setting for adults with serious mental illness
Previous management experience preferred
Ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team for the purpose of providing person-centered services
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Ability to utilize Microsoft Office
Must possess a valid driver’s license
