RHD Brandywine Hills is the administrative office that supports residential programs for adults with serious mental illness. The program provides comprehensive support for adults who are coming out of a psychiatric hospital setting. Services focus on skill
building in illness management and community living, maximizing quality of life, and reducing the need for inpatient hospitalizations.
Brandywine Hills is seeking two (2) full time registered nurses (35-40 hrs per week) and 2 part time/PRN Registered Nurses to work (8-32) hours per per month.
Collaborate with Unit Director, Assistant Director, Nursing Supervisor in assuring that program is compliant with all LLAM regulations, DSAMH regulations, CARF standards, and Long Term Care regulations.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide LLAM training to all staff annually and newly hired staff as needed.
Maintain appropriate standards for medication storage.
Maintain appropriate standards and documentation regarding controlled substances and medication errors.
Record changes in MAR.
Assure that program has 3 days of medications on site at all times.
Review MAR’s weekly for completeness, compliance and possible errors.
Communicate any and all problems regarding medication (including documentation) to the unit director immediately.
Collaborate with treatment team in supporting physical and mental health of Residents.
Review labs/notes as need to assure appropriate follow up on health issues.
Work individually with residents as needed to address particular health needs (i.e. diabetes, dietary challenges).
Attend medical appointments with clients as needed or as requested to provide assistance and support.
Ongoing staff and resident education (as needed).
Provide staff and residents with instruction on specific health topics on an as needed or as requested basis.
Communicate with pharmacy on an ongoing basis to assure residents have appropriate medications throughout the month.
Communicate with medical personnel in the community to advocate for consumers’ health care needs and to provide follow up as needed.
Provide assistance to staff and residents in emergency situations.
Will provide care to consumers in a manner that reflects RHD Values.
Will take on other duties as assigned.
Must be a Licensed Registered Nurse
Must have at least an Associate's degree in Nursing required
Driver's License required
