Description/Job Summary

Resources for Human Development is seeking to hire a Lead Recovery Support Specialist to work directly with individuals dually diagnosed with severe and pervasive mental illness living in the Bellevue and Ross Township areas of Pittsburgh.

The Lead Recovery Support Specialist is directly responsible for the safety and supervision of individuals served by RHD Bridges. This position will assist with residentially based interventions and work alongside consumers with activities of daily living both in the home and in the community.  In addition, the Lead Recovery Support Specialist will assist the Residential Supervisor in the daily operation of the home. The Lead Recovery Support Specialist will act as a mentor for RSS staff in regards to the expectations of how the job duties should be performed, the attitude to maintain while at work and appropriate interactions with consumers and other professionals.

Responsibilities/Duties

Duties include, but are not limited to, providing instruction, assistance and role modeling in life skill areas of:

- Leisure time

- Financial management

- Medication monitoring

- Crisis management

- Accessing community resources

- Community engagement

- Shopping

- Staff scheduling

- Organization of medical appointments

- Vocational development

Required Experience

Prior experience/education in a social services field is preferred as well as a history or knowledge of working with adults with significant mental illness. Program specific training will be provided.

Required Education

Applicants must have a high school dipolma or GED

Required Qualifications

- Applicant must have a high school diploma/GED

- A minimum of two years in the Human Services field

- A valid Driver's License
