Description/Job Summary

This position supports, maintains and evaluates computer networking and telecommunication systems; installs, configures and maintains/supports both physical and virtual servers; installs, configures and maintains routers, switches, firewalls and VPN clients. This position also performs Active Directory configurations related to group policies and resource security.

Responsibilities/Duties

  • Provide support for infrastructure issues including virtual private networks, routed networks, enterprise backbone, storage area networks, and monitoring networks.
  • Provide administration for Active Directory users and groups along with implementation of security policies.
  • Ensure functionality and provide metric based reporting on servers and software deployments.
  • Develop and maintain the site server implementation process, deploying server technologies both to new and existing sites and programs throughout the enterprise.
  • Utilizing best practices, establish protocols for the support, implementation, and configuration of server and desktop technologies.
  • Work collaboratively with technical support services and assist with telephone and printer support as needed.
  • Work on special projects and other responsibilities as needed

Required Experience

  • 3-5 years of related experience in the field.

Required Education

  • Associate‚Äôs Degree in MIS/IT preferred.
  • Network +, Cisco, or Microsoft certification preferred.

Required Qualifications

  • A solid understanding of Microsoft Windows Server, Active Directory, LDAP, DFS, VMware administration, storage technologies, VoIP, and Office 365 and other related technologies.
  • Strong communication skills both written and oral.
  • Strong understanding of technical troubleshooting methodology
  • Strong documentation and customer service skills, as well as a keen attention to detail are required.
  • Ability to take rotational on-call responsibilities that include nights, weekends, holidays, and maintenance windows outside of normal business hours.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced and open environment.
