Job Summary
The Revenue Cycle Accountant is responsible for month-end close of Avatar, preparing month-end Corporate AR Reporting, and reconciliation/oversight/analysis of various general ledger accounts related to the revenue cycle. The Revenue Cycle Accountant is also responsible for centralized payment application including but not limited to processing electronic payment remittances, communicating payment information to divisional personnel, and reporting and/or reconciling unapplied payment accounts to facilitate payment application in an accurate and timely manner.  The Revenue Cycle Accountant will also assist with report requests, analytics and special projects related to billing, accounts receivable and finance.
 
Duties and Responsibilities
  • Prepare and/or analyze routine reconciliation of payments processed in the various billing sub-ledgers to the general ledger.
  • Prepare and analyze various revenue cycle related accounts to ensure accurate financial reporting
  • Perform the month-end closing process of billing subledger and communicate data files to Accounting for upload
  • Prepare month-end Corporate AR Reporting and related analysis
  • Assist in overseeing accounts receivable and revenue cycle transactions including but not limited to charges, adjustments, write offs and denials
  • Assist with funder-specific reporting requirements
  • Upload, compile, and post insurance Electronic Remittance Advices (ERAs) to the billing subledger daily to ensure accurate real-time statement of accounts receivable.
  • Partner with other team members & divisional billing teams to resolve issues in a timely manner
  • Perform other accounting, financial, or administrative tasks as may be required from time to time.
 
Qualifications
  • BA/BS in Business with an emphasis in accounting
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Experience with healthcare billing and insurance payment processes a plus
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Customer service when interfacing with other departments
  • Initiative to proactively research discrepancies and information requests
  • Ability to multi-task in an open environment
